Cherry blossom season (happening now!) is a magical time of year in Washington, DC. The cherry trees, gifts from the Japanese government in 1912, are rivaled only by those I saw while living in Japan.
Here are some shots from sunrise at the Tidal Basin last week, with a few photos from the National Arboretum mixed in too. (Pro tip: the Arboretum is a more relaxed alternative to the Tidal Basin crowds.)
